Jan 29, 2024.

The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) has concluded its review of the antidumping duty order on passenger vehicle and light truck tires (passenger tires) from Thailand for the period of January 6, 2021, through June 30, 2022. The review found that Sentury Tire (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Sentury) and Sumitomo Rubber (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (SRT) made sales of subject merchandise in the United States at prices below normal value (NV) during this period. Additionally, non-individually examined companies were also determined to have made sales at prices below NV.

Commerce initially published the preliminary results on July 27, 2023, and after inviting comments from interested parties, extended the deadline for the final results until January 23, 2024.

The weighted-average dumping margins for the period January 6, 2021, through June 30, 2022, are as follows:

These final results will serve as the basis for assessing antidumping duties on entries of merchandise covered by this review and for future deposits of estimated duties, where applicable.

Despite the imposition of current tariffs, Thailand's tire manufacturers are minimally affected. The global tire consumer market, exceeding one trillion, primarily centers around Europe and the United States. The low-level anti-dumping duties enable dealers to maintain stable purchasing costs, ensuring tire factory profit margins remain at a high level.
